Hi Everyone! yes I live.. I've been busy writing and publishing, I will be posting my articles here so that you can access them all in one spot.
I've started a new series called "Angels in Disguise". Each month, our main character, Amara, meets folks and helps them to sort things out. I am really enjoying writing the series and I think that given time it will lead to a full length novel. The novel comes out in "Relijournal" online each month.
My second novel, "Through the Dark Night" is coming out sometime in 2011, although I don't have a date certain. I must say though, that my dear mentor and inspiration, Amarie Dennis, a well known author and poet died this past year. Dark Night was our last project together. She herself published her last poetry novel shortly before her death. All proceeds from the sale of her book goes to Carolines' Fund, a charity based in Connecticut.
In my personal life, things have been busy as usual. In December, we welcomed a new little creature into our lives. A husky/shepherd mix named Nava. I wanted something to sound of Christmas, nativity? So Nava is it. I've been training her myself and I must brag for just a moment, she is very good! At four months she already has the basics down, (sit, stay, down, off, leave it) and the best ever! Paw!. yes, she'll shake your head, for a cookie. A very smart puppy if I dont say so myself. The kids adore her and she is never bored.
Musically I have been so very busy. In November, the Boyfriend and I attended "Josh Groban's, Before we Begin" private? tour at the Schubert Theatre in New Haven. He is busy promoting his "Illuminations"CD which came out in November. A fantastic show! Josh is, as always, amazing, and he wowed the crowd. Then in February, 2011 we went to the Bushnell in Hartford for an evening with Hartford Symphony orchestra, playing music from the 60's. I know! at first glance, the BF and I were like, uh ? really? But they had some awesome guest vocalists and we had a really good time! March, we attended a concert at the Katharine Hepburn Culteral Arts Center in Old Saybrook, CT, this time we saw Dar Williams. A wonderful folk singer from New York. She has 6 cd's out and lets just say that she is amazing! She made me laugh, cry and relax. My mind wasn't wandering like it normally is.. Ooo Did I say that outloud? *grimace*.. Anyways, April, we've got nothing, May, we are seeing Idina Menzel at the Bushnell, June, is hopefully.......???? and July is JOSH GROBAN! *Squeeeeeee*!! Oh my gosh, I can not wait! I know, I lose all composure when it comes to that man.
With the world in turmoil, I want to take a moment to ask that we keep our troops, the people of Japan and the people fighting for freedom in the middle east in our prayers. They are all trying so hard to survive and they are facing such huge challenges that even if its a passing prayer, it is a prayer nonetheless.
Thats it for now, good night and good luck.
